Nooteboom Trailer Model Gallery
When it comes to abnormal road transport, there is one name that stands out. Nooteboom trailers are the European market leader in the design and production of a range of trailer solutions for the transport of payloads from 20 to 1000 tonnes. At 26 years old, Willem Nooteboom, a blacksmith and carriage repairman established Nooteboom trailers from the village of Kethal, close to Rotterdam in 1881 and from there, the company began to grow. In the 1950’s, the company began producing tippers and semi-trailers and introduced the low loader with pendel axles in 1953. This revolutionary trailer concept formed the basis for the company to enter the abnormal load transportation sector, something they have built on ever since to earn the title “Trendsetters in Trailers”.
Building on the successful early years, the company moved to a 4.5 acre site in Utrecht during 1953 and in 1978, a new facility in Wijchen was opened. 1978 also saw the introduction of the Euro low loader trailer specifically designed for the transportation of construction equipment, tracked machines, agricultural equipment, vessels and yachts. Celebrating their centenary in 1981, the company received “Royal” status and several years later in 1985, the Utrecht plant was closed with production moving to Wijchen.
The reputation of Nooteboom trailers throughout Europe has been built on their extensive knowledge and innovation over the years, from the introduction of hydraulic suspension in 1975 and hydraulic steering in 1996 to the specialist trailers today, like the Mega windmill transporter, the Pendel-X Euro low-loader and the Tele-PX Super wing carrier.
