Nooteboom OVB-65-04V Triple Extending Telestep Trailer

Presented here is the 1:50th scale Nooteboom OVB-65-04V triple extending telestep trailer with MAN TGX XXL 6x2 tractor from WSI Models. Developed specially for the transport of ultra-long loads, the triple extending Telestep trailer is the perfect solution for the transportation of windmill blades, tower sections and steel structures. With a gross vehicle weight of 102 tonnes and a max load capacity of around 85 tonnes, the trailer has a low load floor height of only 1165mm with turntable steering offering exceptional manoeuvrability. The patented pre-camber beams deployed in the trailers construction ensures the load floor can be retracted or extended flawlessly with hardly any sag. Available in wheel combinations from 2 to 6 axles and to a fully extended length of 48 metres, the Telestep trailer is the ideal choice for today’s demanding transportation requirements.

The OVB-65-04V has been modelled in exacting 1:50th scale by WSI models with some very good engineering and high levels of detailing, coupled to a MAN TGX XXL 6x2 tractor unit.

The underside of the trailer houses the turntable steering which achieves a good range of steering movement coupled with pivoting axle frames, air bottle detailing and flexible lines.

The upper surface of the trailer is inset with simulated wooden panels which have a textured surface with holes along the sides of the trailer to fit the included stakes.

The side surfaces have tie-down ring detailing highlighted in silver with a yellow stripe running the length of the load floor.

The front stabilisers have pivoting pads and height adjustment with a raised gooseneck. Storage boxes are mounted below the load floor with storage for a pair of spare tyres, with wheel chocks modelled in holders at the end of the trailer frame.

The telescopically extending load floor has been engineered well and shows very little sign of sagging with a smooth sliding motion and catches locking into place when fully extended.

Each section has good detailing with printed markings along each beam and hydraulic locking pistons with flexible hoses attached for added realism.

The model is supplied with a pile of simulated wooden pallets which stack on top of each other and elastic tie-down straps with metal tips for securing the load.

The MAN TGX tractor is to WSI’s usual very high standards with a replicated and decorated cabin interior, excellent paint finish with crisp printing of the Nooteboom markings throughout the model.

The front bull-bar has a photo-etched mesh panel with red and white chevron printing on the bumper while a storage box and spare wheel are located behind the cab along with coiled service lines.

The underside of the chassis has a replicated suspension and drive-train with linked steering of the front and tag axles.

A number of different company decorated versions of the model have been produced and some are supplied with a cast resin windmill blade to fully demonstrate the transport capabilities of the trailer.
