Piling & Drilling Rig

The Liebherr LRB18 is an all-round piling and drilling rig hitting
the scales at 51 ton. It is powered by a Liebherr D946 A7-04
diesel engine delivering 523hp at 1700 rpm. The design allows
it to be used in a number of different configurations for drilling
and piling and the 1:50th scale model produced by NZG
comes with the LV 20 piling hammer.

T he tracked undercarriage

is telescopically extending
and the track frames have
individual lower rollers and
tensioned idler wheels to keep tension
on the individually linked track chain
which is fitted with wide triple grouser
pads. When extended, the frames are
robust and there is no noticeable
droop. The cabin has a platform
mounted to the side with large
windows that use printing to highlight
the different panes with a screen
