From the editor
W hen I decided to produce my own magazine, I wasn’t
sure if it was the right decision, or how the magazine
would be received, particularly as it is not available
in newsagents, so sales would always be low, more like a
membership. Now that the first issue has been circulated, I have
to say that the feedback I have received has been very positive,
and that alone makes me believe that I made the right decision to
launch Truck, Plant & Machinery model world.
It was tricky trying to determine the right content and presentation and with Steven Downes
an abundance of models from the Bauma show needing to be reviewed, the
first issue concentrated more on earthmoving equipment. In this issue, there is Truck, Plant & Machinery
Model World Editor
a focus on cranes and a little more coverage on trucks, particularly with the
issue’s Collector Focus. Email: editor@tpmmagazine.co.uk

From feedback received, most of the reviews in this issue now have additional
information about the model under review, including the dimensions and
weight of the models and I suspect there could be other things that can be Find us
added to the reviews to provide the best information possible. I have been
asked by several readers if I will be covering any agricultural models in the
magazine, and this is something I have given thought to over the last 3-4
weeks and, starting in the spring issue, there will be an agricultural models
section in the magazine. I would welcome any comments you may have on
what the split should be between construction, trucks and agricultural reviews
and stories.
This issue’s lucky subscriber is Gordon Mitchell from Wakefield who will
shortly be receiving the special Nuremberg Toyfair 2019 model of the
1:125th scale Cat 390 tracked excavator courtesy of Diecast Masters.
I would like to thank everyone who has purchased a copy of the first issue or
subscribed to the magazine and hope you enjoy reading the Winter issue.
Until next time, happy reading
