It is always interesting to see companies do something a little different and that is the case with
the Liebherr A920 mobile excavator, with two different versions of the machine produced by
Conrad. The first to be released during the Bauma 2019 trade show had a monoboom with a
bladed undercarriage with outriggers. The toothed bucket was permanently connected to
the stick and it was listed as a Stage IIIA. Several months later, Conrad released the Tier V
specification A920 which has a number of differences over
the first release, so let’s take a closer look.

S tarting with the undercarriage,
gone are the outriggers to be
replaced with a metal bar.
The driveshafts to the axles
are present with the front axle having
working steering. One difference here
are the mud guards fitted over the
wheels which really do enhance
the looks of the model, complete
with printing to highlight the fixing
brackets.
