Bell B60E

Articulated Dump Truck

The flagship Bell B60E has been
convincingly replicated in 1:50th
scale by USK Scalemodels.

Two axle articulated dump trucks are typically found on building sites with
capacities up to 10 ton and while there have been larger 2-axle trucks offered from

manufacturers like Volvo, in wasn’t until the introduction of the Bell B60E that the
2-axle articulated dumper for quarrying and mining operations became a reality.
Combining the front of a typical ADT with the rear of a typical rigid haul truck, the
combination is certainly interesting, powered by a Mercedes Benz OM473LA
6-cylinder diesel engine delivering a gross output of 577hp. The Alison 7 forward,
1 reverse fully automatic planetary transmission and Kessler transfer case provide
the hauler with a maximum speed of 32mph.
