Looking back at 2013

There have been some interesting and unfortunate developments during 2013 and with the Bauma show a highlight, new models were once again plentiful with more still in development for release throughout 2014.  Intermat Models

After a sucessful trip to the Intermat trade fair, I detail the new models launched at the event, and predict what we could see in the months leading up to the Bauma show next April. (Added 20/04/2012)

 

Sandvik Visit (18th July 2011)

In combination with the launch of the new MT720 roadheader model, Sandvik invited me to visit their Zeltweg production facility in Austria to see first hand how the machines are produced.

Mini Marvels

While construction models are typically produced in 1:50th scale, there is a growing range of 1:87th scale models still being produced. I have taken a look at a selection of 1:87th scale construction pieces from Norscot. (Added 19/12/2010)

 

Bauma 2010   

After a three year wait, the Bauma trade fair opened its doors to all those who managed to get to Munich. As with previous shows, the weather was good and the sheer size and number of exhibits at the show ground were amazing. Click below for my report on the new models at the show.

Model Predictions for 2010   

We are only a week into the new year and several model manufacturers have already started announcing new models. With Bauma only a few months away, I take a look at what models may appear during 2010.

Sandvik Visit (12th May 2009)   

Sandvik invited me to visit their headquarters in Sandviken, Sweden along with a visit to their assembly
plant in Tampere, Finland where the range of surface and underground drill rigs are produced.
