BELAZ

The BELAZ company opened its doors in 1948 and
is a Belarusian manufacturer of haulage and
earthmoving equipment, based in Zhodzina. They
produce a range of different capacities of mining
haul trucks, from 30t to the world’s largest hauler,
the 450-ton capacity 75710 monster. Other lines
include construction and road building vehicles,
mining and tunnelling equipment, aircraft tugs and
specialist hauling equipment.

In 2019, two new die-cast scale models of BELAZ

mining trucks appeared on the market. While models
of Eastern European OEM manufacturers tend to be
in a scale of 1:43, the new releases are in the
recognised 1:50th scale and have been produced in
the same factory in China that produces the Diecast
Masters range of Caterpillar models. They are
distributed in Europe by USK Scalemodels and they
have now been joined by a further six releases which
are reviewed in detail on the following pages.
