From the editor
2 020 started full of promise for another great year for diecast
model releases, and while during toyfair, there was a lot of
speculation as to how the situation in China would affect the
model release schedule, no one could have foreseen the impact
the virus has had on the rest of the world.
All the different events and shows which I was eagerly looking forward to
have been cancelled, the population has been in lockdown and even now, it
is hard to see how we will ever get back to normality. In collaboration with
Laster & Bagger magazine, we have asked the various model manufacturers Steven Downes
how they have been affected and you can find their answers on pages 6 & Truck, Plant & Machinery
7. One thing is for sure, companies far and wide will be pulling in the purse Model World Editor
strings which will no doubt have an impact on future model development and Email: editor@tpmmagazine.co.uk

As for the magazine, I am committed to continuing to report on the model
releases and for me personally, the lockdown has not had a big effect, as I
was already working from home. Models are still being released, and there Find us
are still a number of new releases expected over the next 6 months which will
hopefully grace the pages of TPM. The summer issue has run a little behind
schedule, but rest assured, the next issue will be back on track for release
around the 1st of September. I would just like to thank the readers who have
subscribed to the magazine, and for some of you, this will be the last issue in
your subscription. I hope you have enjoyed the coverage over the last 4 issues
and I hope you will re-subscribe for the next 12 months which can be done
by visiting the website or sending in the form in the latest issue.
This issue’s lucky subscriber is Jim Riley from Macclesfield who will shortly
be receiving the special Nuremberg Toyfair 2020 model of the 1:125th scale

As always, we welcome any comments, thoughts and ideas you may have
on how to make Plant & Machinery Model World even better.
Until next time, happy reading
