Caterpillar 242D Skid Steer Loader

Presented here is the 1:50th scale 242D wheeled skid steer loader from Diecast Masters which is an impressive model despite its small dimensions, and comes with a quick coupler and choice of four different work tools consisting of a standard bucket, a wide bucket, pallet forks and a grapple bucket with adjustable grapples.

The wheels freely rotate and are fitted with rubber tyres which have an authentic tread pattern. The rear engine compartment is augmented with painted lights which look good and the cabin has mesh printed side panels with a glazed front door and seated operator.

As with the Cat 259D Multi-Terrain loader, the arms have an authentic range of movement which will hold in any chosen position with a good range of tipping motion for the fitted work tool and all the pin heads have been covered with paint which is a nice addition, adding to the realism.

The model comes packaged in a collectors tin which has printed images and specifications of the full sized machine. The 242D has also been produced in a limited run for the 2017 toyfair and has printing on the cabin roof.
