JCB 535-140 "Loadall" Telescopic Handler

Presented here is the 1:50th scale JCB 535-140 Loadall which has been produced by NZG. It is the first Loadall to be realised in 1:50th scale and NZG has done a very convincing job, with both pallet forks and a general purpose bucket included in the box.

The boom is mounted low down on the chassis offering an excellent view from the cabin which has an authentically modelled interior, complete with printing used on the display console and a debris protection frame integrated into the roof.

The exterior of the cabin has silver painted lights in the roof line and lower down in front of the main window with a rear view mirror fixed to the frame and a rear safety mirror also fitted. Silver painted steps are integrated into the side body with fenders fitted to the front wheel hubs which angle as the wheels steer.

The front pair of stabilisers can be lowered with fairly stiff hydraulics and pivoting pads keeping the model steady with the boom extended. The tyres have an authentic raised tread pattern with yellow hubs with black centres.

The telescopic boom sections slide smoothly with a working upper cylinder topped with hydraulic lines and printed markings on the inner boom indicating the amount of extension.

The boom tip has a quick-change frame allowing the bucket to be pinned into place while pallet forks are supplied and fit into the frame on a long metal pin, allowing the pitch to be adjusted.

A nice feature at the rear of the model are the light clusters which can be set in the vertical or horizontal position. Silver painted wheel chocks are also fitted to the rear frame along with a silver faced safety mirror.

The engine housing has a ridged upper vent with black highlighted handle on the bonnet panel with the silencer box fitted to the chassis frame behind the engine module.

The underside chassis detailing has not been missed with a replicated drive-train to both axles, each of which feature working steering to allow various steering modes to be displayed. The rear frame has a non-functional towing catch embossed into the surface with curved counterweights on each side.

The paint finish is excellent throughout with sharp JCB markings on the boom, cabin, engine housing and rear end finishing off a very well crafted replica. The 535-140 is a good companion to the previously released JCB 86C-1 midi tracked excavator, also produced by NZG.
