Terex TA400 Articulated Dump Truck

Presented here is the 1:50th scale Terex TA400 articulated dump truck which has been produced by NZG. The range of Terex rigid and articulated haulers are produced in Motherwell, Scotland and the TA400 is the flagship model in the articulated hauler range boasting a 38 ton payload and powered by a Scania DC13 6-cylinder diesel engine meeting Tier 4F emission standards and an Allison HD4560 fully automatic transmission with 6 forward and 1 reverse gear.

The TA400 is an update to the earlier released TA40, both from NZG and replicated in 1:50th scale. The cabin has a modelled interior, as expected from NZG capturing the contours of the internal panels, driver’s seating and steering wheel. Behind the cabin, there is some good detailing of the exhaust with hoses crossing the articulation point and connecting with the dump body lift cylinders.

Metal safety railings are fitted to both sides with access steps integrated into the rear of the wheel arches.

The sloping bonnet has a textured front grill with integrated lights on the sides of the bonnet which have painted lenses.

The underside chassis detailing includes the suspension arms and drive-train for the rear axles with a good degree of steering and rotation of the articulating joint. The rear body can be raised to a realistic dump height.
