1:50th Scale O&K RH30E Backhoe Excavator

This is the O&K RH30E backhoe model. It is a custom model based on the NZG RH30E shovel. The boom, stick and bucket are from a kit by MEC. The model is very well detailed with full hydraulic hose parts and a HDT digging bucket with 3 special teeth that vibrate at the machine digs into the rock face.

The model was constructed a couple of years ago and was a challenge to build, as I had not done too many custom models at that stage. The results were very encouraging and I am really happy with how the model turned out.

 This is one of a number of kits that have been produced by MEC to allow the customising of standard models into a more specialised use.
