Mecalac AS900 Swing Loader

Mecalac have a rather interesting portfolio of innovative equipment, ideally suited for a multitude of tasks and at the 2016 Bauma trade show, several machines from their range were put through their paces on the demonstration area including the AS900 Swing Loader.

The AS900 is an interesting development, powered by a Deutz TDC 2,9 L4 diesel engine generating 75hp. The hydrostatic drive and all-wheel steer provide excellent mobility and the monoboom design with internal Z-Kinematics offer optimum visibility, high tear-out forces and parallel motion allowing all the tasks of a standard wheel loader to be performed while extending its use for more interesting applications, particularly with additional work tools and this has been fully realised with the new 1:50th scale replica from Conrad.

Out of the box, the model is supplied with several work tools allowing it to be configured for handling duties with pallet forks (Above) and general loading duties with the fully functional 4-in-1 bucket (Below).

The addition of a lifting arm and hook further enhances the posing possibilities and the ability to remove the hook and replace it with a clamshell bucket shows the versatility of the loader to also dig holes and trenches when combined with the ability to rotate the loader arm by 90 degrees to each side of the chassis.

The rigid chassis has steering of both axles which is linked and obtains a fairly tight turning radius while the cabin interior has been replicated as a single colour moulding highlighting the internal components.

The compact engine compartment has a curved design to offer an unobstructed view of the rear with lights and towing hitch integrated into the counterweight while surface details include the textured cooling grill and handle.

The paint finish and printing are to Conrad’s usual high standards and the model is presented in the foam lined inner carton with printed outer box.
