Link Belt TCC750 Tracked Telescopic Crane

Presented here is the Link Belt TCC750 telescopic crawler crane which is a little gem with some very nicely engineered features, particularly the undercarriage which has the ability to extend the track frames, first by unfolding the main cross members which fold against the outside of the track frame assembly. Once unfolded, the track frames can be extended into the working position, providing enhanced stability. Two ballast pieces are included in the box and push fit into the holes on the main undercarriage frame.

One very welcome feature on the upper carriage are the service platforms running along the sides and these can be folded up to depict the model in transport mode. Once again, a choice of safety railings has been offered with both folded and fully raised sets included in the box.

The rear of the upper structure has hooks to accept the detachable counterweight plate, consisting of the main base plate and two additional weights which are held in place with small fastenings on the sides. Each ballast segment has tiny printing of the weight with red and white chevrons on the corners. Even the flexible hoses for the lift mechanism have been modelled.

Two winches are installed, both pre-wound with rope and the hooks fully rigged, with one main hook and one headache ball hook. Small chains holding the sensors have been fitted which really enhances the appearance of the model, and these simply clip onto the ropes.

The cabin is fitted with large, clear glazed windows which allow all the interior detailing to be seen, including the side control console, track steering levers and the main joystick controls integrated into the arm rests of the driver’s seat. Grab rails are fitted to the cab frame with a small front platform, rear view mirror and both front and roof mounted screen wipers.

The model comes with a two section lattice jib that fits to the boom head and stores along the side of the boom when not needed. The angle of the jib can be set in one of three positions by adjusting the tiny bolts and the four-stage main boom extends smoothly with a grub screw fitted to the main lift cylinder allowing it to be set at any desired angle. The Link Belt TCC750 is one of my top five model releases of 2015 with an excellent paint finish and accurate placement of the Link Belt markings and machine designation.
