Komatsu GD655 Grader

Presented here is the Komatsu GD655 grader model in 1:50th scale from First Gear. The detail level is amazing for a model so small and yet the model is much more sturdy than the Volvo G740B grader model from Motorart.

The rear of the model features a functional three shank ripper and highly detailed engine grill. The rear wheels have working suspension and oscilation and the casting is highly detailed and well finished. All handrails and hydraulic hosing are reproduced throughout the model.

This is the first grader model to feature such a high degree of both detail and movement of the blade and mouldboard. All hydraulic hosing is faithfully reproduced and the range of movement of the hydraulics is exceptional. The blade can be tilted, slides left to right and rotates just like the real machine.

The front wheel assembly is the best seen by far and surpasses the efforts of Motorart and Norscot on their Volvo and Cat graders respectively. There is a large range of steering movement and the wheels can be angled just like the real machine. This has been attempted on the Cat 24H and Volvo G740B but this model achieves the best degree of movement and detail.

The cab is highly detailed inside and out with windscreen wipers, mirrors, lights and handrails added. This is an exceptional model from First Gear at a reasonable price and is another great addition to add to the other Komatsu models released to date.
