Hamm GRW280 Rubber Tired Roller

The Hamm GRW280 roller features an asymmetrical frame allowing an unhindered view of the outer wheels with a comfortable and ergonomically designed work place with a hydrostatic drive for precision control, powered by a powerful Deutz Tier III diesel engine and having the capacity to ballast up to 28 ton. Many of these details have been captured in the limited edition 1:50th scale replica presented here in the Schnorpfeil company colours from NZG.

The spacious cabin interior has been fully replicated including the drivers seat and central console which is fixed in a forward facing central position. This is all visible through the large glazed windows of the accurately modelled cab which has grab rails and cast door hinge detailing on both sides.

The Deutz TCD 2012 L04 2V 4-cylinder diesel engine has been accurately captured within the engine compartment. All the engine components are visible including the cooling and exhaust systems by raising the single piece engine cover. The silver finished deck plates have a textured diamond plate surface which looks the part.

The model features plastic lenses for the work and brake lights which have been tinted red and look very authentic, integrated into the body casting which also features recessed points on the corners where lifting brackets have been replicated. Small plastic wheel cleaning bars have been fitted which pivot and have bolt head detailing cast into the surface for added realism.

The front axles have working steering which achieves a reasonably degree of movement (as pictured above) with both sets of wheels having sprung suspension allowing the model to simulate the abilities of the machine on uneven ground.

The side panels have integrated access steps which have an upper textured anti-slip surface while large rear view mirrors have been fitted to the front of the chassis for added operator visibility. The paint finish is excellent with crisp printing of the Schnorpfeil logos alongside the Hamm and Wirtgen graphics. the model is pictured below alongside the HBM Nobas BG190 TA-3 motor grader in the same company colours.
