Custom Models - The O&K RH30F Excavator
This is a model that I have now finished. It is a kit to convert the O&K RH30 face shovel model from NZG into an O&K RH30F backhoe excavator.
The kit comes with all the parts needed to make the RH30F backhoe including resin boom,stick and bucket and a choice of two different style cabs, along with extra detailing parts and flexible rubber tubing.
A little work is required to cut away the original cab and high riser block to be able to fit the new cab. This involved taking a hack saw to the model. The original paint was stripped and repainted in the blue / white colour scheme that my other OHS conversions have been finished in.

The back of the boom is finished with white metal pipework, connecting to the block mounted on the uper-structure by the rubber hosing supplied. The main boom and stick hydraulics have been scratch built from brass and aluminium tubing as the kit does not supply the correct parts for the hydraulics, relying on reusing parts from the donor model which are the wrong size. |

The RH30F looks good alongside the RH90C backhoe and face shovel models and the colour scheme stands out and contrasts well. Another conversion that has worked out well.
