Custom Models - The Cat 776D with Mega bottom dump trailer
This is a model that I have now finished. It is a kit to convert the Cat 777D dump truck model from Norscot into a 776D tractor model.
The kit comes with all the parts needed to modify the 777D into the 776D including larger tyres and new deck parts. The kit also contains the Mega bottom dump trailer to connect to the 776D.

This picture shows the front deck of the model. I stripped the original model down before painting it in the 2 tone white/blue colours shown. The hand railings are white metal which have been painted blue to match the blue ladders. |
The kit contains all the parts to make the bottom doors fully functional, although to get working correctly is very tricky and care needs to be taken to avoid damaging the delicate parts. Almost all of the trailer is resin, the exception being the wheel centres, hydraulics and trailer undercariage at the rear which are white metal.
