Claas Torion 1914 Wheel Loader

Liebherr has introduced a new range of wheel loaders ranging in size from the L550 up to the flagship L586, some of which have now been produced for Claas as the Torion range, decorated in their corporate colours of grey, green and white.

The new Claas Torion 1914 wheel loader in 1:50th scale from Conrad is based on the Liebherr L566 X-Power loader with no casting differences between the two models. The model accurately captures the design of the main engine compartment with clever moulding of the plastic side grill covers.

The cabin has a simple plastic interior highlighting the driver seating, armrest controls and steering wheel which has been painted black. Self fit mirrors need to be installed to the cab frame on both sides to complete the model and these can be a little tricky to insert as they are a tight fit.

The metal safety railings are located only on one side of the chassis as all serviceable components are located on one side for easier maintenance.

The rear of the model has lights incorporated into the upper engine housing with lights also inset into the counterweight with the large exhaust stack mounted centrally in the bonnet with silver heat shielding and an open tip.

The loader arms have captured the full range of movement with a good tipping angle on the Z-bar linkage while the articulation point is fitted with functional steering hydraulics and a driveshaft.
