Caterpillar 777D with Klein Water Tanker

This is the new 1:50th scale Cat 777D with Klein water tanker from Norscot. This is an interesting model and is surprisingly heavy for the size of model. The details are good, from the flexible rubber mud guards, working steering and tilting tanker body.

The model finish is good with crisp markings and some nice little touches, like the hose reel mounted to the front of the tanker body. This detail would probably be missing a couple of years ago. Norscot models are getting better in terms of details. If only they would use smaller rivets.

It is also interesting to see this type of model made, where the tanker body is from a different manufacturer than Caterpillar. Let's hope this continues in the future with other interesting mining models.
