Caterpillar R3000H Underground Loader

Presented here is the 1:50th scale Cat R3000H underground loader which is one of a number of new Caterpillar releases from Diecast Masters, and one rather nice addition is the inclusion of electronics fitted to the model, giving working lighting

On the underside of the model is a compartment where three button cell batteries fit. A screw holds the cover in place and a switch is located next to the compartment which can be set in one of three positions, Off, On or Timed. Naturally, on and off are self explanatory and the timed option lights the LEDs for a set length of time.

The R3000H loader has a large capacity bucket with very nice surface detailing of the wear plating with the arms rising to a realistic height and a good tipping angle is achieved on the bucket. The LED lights are cleverly located on the loader arms, cabin side, roof line and inset into the rear body panels.

The rear body housing has open sides allowing the internal engine components to be seen with plastic grab rails and integrated steps giving service access. The paint finish is even, not overly thick and of a high quality with printed Caterpillar logos and markings.
