1:50th Scale Caterpillar PR-450 Road Reclaimer

Presented here is the 1:50th scale Caterpillar PR-450 reclaimer from NZG. This is a fairly basic model and does not have much in the way of fine detailing found on some of today's model releases.

The three pivoting track frames have small rubber tracks with moulded grouser detailing with the front track turning to steer the machine. The conveyor belt is made of rubber and there is a small, thumb turned wheel at the top to operate the belt rotation.

The control station has been replicated and metal safety rails are fitted around the upper deck with a textured floor surface. The plastic cutting drum rotates and has moulded tooth detailing visible which is rather basic from some of the recent releases which have finely detailed cast teeth on metal drums. This demonstrates the limitations in producing fine detail when this model was first released.
