Caterpillar DP25N Lift Truck
Presented here is the 1:25th scale Caterpillar DP25N lift truck from Norscot. Fork Lifts (Lift Trucks) are typically produced in 1:25th scale to demonstrate the detail thoroughly considering the small dimentions of the equipment and while models have become more detailed as they become smaller, 1:25th is the recognised scale for these specialist loading machines.
The Cat DP25N has some good detailing including the authentic replication of the cabin which has a moulded rubber seat and central console which houses the steering wheel and levers. The armrest has integrated controls for the forks and these have been nicely replicated, as has the textured floor and foot controls.
The metal canopy protects the driver and this has a crisp grilled roof with integrated work lights with silver painted lenses and scaled grab rails, offering a good view through the grills of the work area allowing precise positioning of the forks at maximum height.

The tyres have a solid moulded tread pattern and are mounted to black plastic wheel hubs which have very good bolt details while the rear axle has working steering which has limited movement. The forks fitted to the model can be adjusted to carry wide or narrow loads with a metal frame which slides up the three section mast which telescopes and has working hydraulic cylinders to keep the mast raised in the air. The mast can be tilted slightly, just like the full sized lift truck and the paint finish is good, with an even coat and crisp graphics. |
