Caterpillar D9T Dozer

Cat D9T Bulldozer

The Caterpillar D9T track-type tractor is one of the first models from Diecast Masters to show what the new licence holder plans for their future models, with plenty of detail and functionality packed into the popular sized dozer.

At the front, the blade can be adjusted in height with some angular movement of the blade possible, topped with flexible hoses to the main lift cylinders which have integrated lights and mirrors although on the sample, these are not painted silver.

The printing of the side engine grill perforations looks realistic and the paint finish is to a high standard throughout with accurate placement of the Caterpillar markings and all rivet heads covered over. Safety walkways and scaled metal railings are prominent on the model with grab rails integrated into the cabin frame while the replicated interior is populated by a driver figure.

The track frames have the lower roller assembly details incorporated into the castings with the final drive casing showing all the bolt heads and toothed sprocket. The tensioned idler wheels allow the linked tracks with single grouser design to rotate freely.

At the rear, all the cylinders for the ripper frame are piped up, including a feed for the simulated pin puller. One disappointment is that the single ripper shank is integrated into the frame casting.
