Caterpillar 906H Wheel Loader
Presented here is the 1:50th scale Caterpillar 906H wheel loader from Norscot. The model is an update of the previous 906 release and is a much better model throughout. One of the most interesting areas on the model is the articulated steering linkage which has been modelled to feature oscillating motion of the frames to simulate the suspension abilities of the full sized machine. This is a nice touch on the model and is enhanced by the fitting of a driveshaft to the front axle and a single hydraulic steering cylinder..

The cab interior is fully replicated with moulded plastic interior structure with side console, front mounted central steering console complete with steering wheel and a contoured seat. The exterior of the cab has accurately scaled grab rails integrated into the frame along with rear view mirrors with silver painted surfaces and both front and rear facing work lights mounted into the roof. There are even tiny door stop brackets extending from the roof frame although the doors do not open |
One of the main differences to the original 906 model is the new twin loader arm design which features z-bar linkage and flexible hydraulic hoses. The bucket height that can be achieved is amazing on this model and is one of the best models to replicate the full loader arm movement.

The curved rear body shape allows excellent viewing to the rear of the machine and this has been excellently captured on the model. The couterweight casting incorporates brake and indicator lights which have painted lenses along with a non functional pintle hitch and wide cooling grill which has a textured surface.
The rubber wheels have an intricate moulded tread pattern with plastic wheel hubs and both sets of wheels are freely rotating. The paint finish is very good throughout with crisp markings on the rear body sides and engine cover and painted rivit heads which gives the model a much more realistic appearance over the original 906 model and once again demonstrates the vast increase in detail level on the latest Norscot releases.
