Caterpillar 772 Quarry Truck
The 1:50th scale Caterpillar 772 from Norscot is a welcomed addition to the Caterpillar model collection. There are not many models of small quarry trucks produced so the 772 is a welcome release and, as now expected from Norscot, the level of detail and finish on the model are very good.

The most unusual feature on the 772 is the centrally mounted cab which has been fully captured from the full sized machine. Access steps are added to each side of the chassis with accurately scaled handrails along the front of the model ending at the large, curved engine grill.
The wheel hubs are highly detailed with authentic looking cut out slots and fixing bolt heads all visible. The rubber tyres have an accurate tread pattern moulded into them and the front axle has functional steering which is operated by two small hydraulic pistons connected to the steering bar. The dump body does have the ability to raise but the hydraulics do not offer anywhere near the amount of movement that is required to fully tip the body and this is the only let down on the model. |

Large rear view mirrors have been added to both sides of the truck with accurate placement of the safety railing all round the upper deck. The cab interior has been fully modelled and is visible through the large glazed windows. |

The casting of the dump body has been made in one piece and features support beam and frame detailing with an accurate decal placement on the sides and front edge.
This is another good model release from Norscot with a quality paint finish and accurate placement of the Cat markings throughout and looks great when posed alongside the 365C shovel
