Caterpillar 432E Backhoe Loader
The new Caterpillar 432E backhoe loader is an update to the previously released 432D. It shares the same attachments but is a completely new casting. The main difference is the new style cab, which is nicely detailed with internal controls visible through the clear glazing. The front loader arms and fitted with a quick coupler allowing bucket, lifting arm or pallet forks (shown above) to be attached.
The rear of the model features a fully functional sideshift backhoe boom with new style extra dig stick. The quick coupler allows a bucket, H70 hammer or auger (shown above) to be fitted. The stabilisers can be lowered and the front wheels are steerable (although there is not much steering movement on my model)
The addition of the GPS unit in the box is very interesting, as it is unlikely to be seen that often on real machines. Although it is separate and does not need to be fitted, on the 432E, it is attached to the rear of the model behind the stabiliser post, so the mounting holes are not as noticable when it is not fitted. The model is well finished with the standard Cat colour scheme of black / yellow and all markings are crisp. The addition of painted rivets on the front loader arms is a nice touch, it is a shame they cannot paint the rivets on the rear backhoe, or their other models for that matter.
