Caterpillar 416 Backhoe Loader
Presented here is the 1:32nd scale Caterpillar 416 backhoe loader from Norscot. This is an interesting release of an 80's vintage backhoe loader to celebrate 25 years of backhoe production by Caterpillar.
The model is very basic in design considering today's standards and yet it is certainly something a little different. The 1:32nd scale allows the model to be posed with backhoe loaders from Conrad and Joal who have produced numerous larger scale backhoe's over the years.

The rear backhoe is of centermount design with fold down stabilisers which are stiff enough to raise the rear wheels off the ground. The boom, stick and bucket have a very good and realistic range of movement and the friction on the cylinders is just right for the pistons to operate smoothly, remaining in the chosen pose.
The front loader arms raise to a very good height while the bucket linkage allows a very realistic range of movement of the bucket, allowing realistic posing either loading trucks or providing support for rear digging duties. The textured front grill and side body panels are painted black with all pin heads painted yellow. |

The driver's station is an open design with minimalistic detailing, including steering wheel and rear controls for the backhoe with a sturdy ROPs canopy offering protection from the elements. |

The paint finish is good throughout with accurate printing of the old style Cat logo with silver and orange painted working and indicator lights and authentically treaded rubber tyres finishing off another interesting model from Norscot.
