Caterpillar 336D Tracked Excavator
Presented here is the Caterpillar 336D tracked excavator in 1:50th scale from Norscot. This is an updated model to the 330D with the new number designating the weight class of the machine.
The undercarriage has individually linked metal tracks with sprung loaded idler wheels and triple grouser pad detailing with a fairly detailed undercarriage and track frame casting. The body casting has cooling grill textured panels on the sides, complete with door handle detailing.

The model is essentially the same casting as the 330D and the addition of the quick coupler gives Norscot the perfect oportunity to have provided a different attachment with the 336D to make the model a little different which they unfortunately did not do.

The cab features clear windows with detailed interior, rear view mirrors and scaled hand rails. Mirrors have also been added to the opposite side of the body along with hand rails and steps up to the top of the engine. |
The boom, stick and bucket have a good range of movement with the stick having cast hydraulic pipe detail along with flexible pipework connected to the bucket and stick cylinders. The bucket is connected to the stick with a quick coupler and can be removed although there are no additional attachments supplied with the model. The paint finish on the model is good with crisp power edge markings on the boom and body.
