Caterpillar 16M3 Motor Grader
Following hot on the heels of the 18M3 grader is the new 16M3 motor grader which has been engineered to once again provide some super detailing to make the model much more realistic. In fact, placing the 16M3 alongside the 16M from CCM, there is no real difference in terms of realism, with both models superbly finished.
The front axle has a limited degree of steering movement and there is oscillation of the cross member for uneven ground. The rear bogies are fitted with covers above the tyres and each bogie can pivot with a fairly authentic range of movement.
The engine housing has some very nice surface detailing of the various panels with printing used for the grill perforations. Metal grab handles have been added to the sides and upper edge of the compartment for safe servicing while the rear grill is partially hidden by the fire suppression canister, another nice addition which increases realism.
The numerous work lights have all been painted with silver lenses and flexible hydraulic lines have been fitted to the lift cylinder of the ripper assembly which can be adjusted in height.

The cabin is finished to a high level of detail including the various screen wiper blades, roof mounted work lights, metal safety and grab rails, two of which incorporate the rear view mirrors which can be adjusted. |
The interior is finished in a tan colour with light grey central console and a seated figure. Access steps are located on each side of the chassis which is articulating, although the range of movement is a little limited. |

The front frame of the grader is packed with flexible hydraulic lines terminating at each of the hydraulic cylinders, with the mouldboard having excellent functionality, allowing the blade to be tilted, rotated, raised and lowered and also extending out to the side. All the pin heads have been painted over and the silver check valves and terminations again increase the visual appeal.
The latest range of Caterpillar models from Diecast Masters don’t look out of place when intermingled with the CCM releases, showing the strides that Diecast Masters have made since becoming a Caterpillar Model licensee. Lined up below are the 12M3, 16M3 and 18M3 motor graders with the 14M3 and 140M3 still to come.
