1:50th Scale Atlas AW300 Tandem Drum Compactor

Presented here is the latest addition to the Atlas model fleet in the form of the AW300 tandem drum vibratory compactor in 1:50th scale from NZG. The model is constructed well with plenty of visible detail throughout. The single piece metal ROPS frame is sturdy and has cast hinge detail where the frame is folded for transport on the full sized version.

The open driver's station has a contoured seat with integrated arm rests and a central control column topped with a steering wheel with a joystick control lever located on the right hand side, next to the seat along with a hand brake. The chassis has cut-outs in the side panels to allow easy access for the operator and the metal grab rails are accurately scaled.

The articulating frame is functional and achieves a reasonable degree of turn and the front body panel is accurately contoured with painted work and indicator lights on the front panel, just above the roller cleaning bar. The rollers rotate smoothly and have replicated drive motors and detailed frame housings which look good on a model measuring 45mm long.
