Atlas 225LC Tracked Excavator
Presented here is the 1:50th scale Atlas 225LC tracked excavator from NZG. The model is an update to the original Terex version, repainted in the new Atlas Maschinen GmbH dark grey and orange colours.

The rear body has been accurately modelled with cut outs for the rear facing lights which have painted lenses and cooling panel grills added to the upper body casting.
A red grab rail has been added, like on the TW140 which I think adds to the aesthetic appearance of the model. Rear view mirrors have been added, as has the small exhaust stack poking out from the upper engine cover. |

The upper surface has painted anti slip panels while the side body design has integrated steps leading to the upper deck. |

The undercarriage has some very nice looking individually linked metal track pads with triple grouser and bolt detailing added. The cab is highly detailed with windscreen wiper, rear view mirrors and front facing work lights all present on the cab frame with tinted windows and a fully reproduced cab interior.
The boom on the model looks a little longer than would normally be expected for this size of machine and yet this gives the model a more imposing look. The added hydraulic hoses increase the level of realism and the bucket linkage has a good amount of movement.
The bucket has some very good looking teeth with grooves cast into them just like on the full sized machine. The wear protection plates have also been added to the bucket which adds to the realism.
This is another good model release from NZG with an excellent paint finish and accurately placed Atlas artwork across the counterweight and body sides. The 225LC is a great companion to the 140W wheeled excavator (pictured below)
The model is well protected in a two piece polystyrene carton with printed cardboard box showing an image of the full sized machine.
