Allis Chalmers HD41 Tracked Tractor
This is the Allis Chalmers HD41 tracked tractor with hydraulic blade and kelly ripper in 1:25th scale from First Gear. This model is a monster with a host of fine detailing and functional parts throughout.
The engine compartment contains a fully replicated engine with all the components visible through the open sides of the engine bay. The oil filters, fan belts, hydraulic hoses and exhaust systems are all there in minute detail and this has to be one of the most detailed models so far released from First Gear.

The massive, semi-U blade has cast cutting edges with bolt detailing while the rear of the blade has hydraulic piping and deflection plates fitted. The main blade lift cylinders are vey stiff to allow the model to be posed with the blade raised off the ground and have both flexible and fixed pipework on them to give a more realistic look and feel. |

The cab interior is amazing with every control and dial reproduced. The attention to detail is what makes this model a truly fantastic piece with opening tool boxes, grab rails, dials, levers and even a cooling fan for the operator all visible through the large glazed windows and opening cab doors. Even the simulated window seals are present to give that added level of realism.

The rear of the model features a large kelly ripper bar with two large and stiff hydraulic cylinders allowing any position to be chosen. Flexible hydraulic piping has been added and there is even a pin pulling cylinder which works to release the large ripper shank and allow it to be positioned at different heights or removed completely. |
The individually linked tracks have fine detailing on each pad including bolt heads and raised grouser. The sprocket is highly detailed and the tracks rotate freely.
The rear of the model has a huge fuel tank and there are photo etched grills which allow the cooling fan to be seen within which is another great touch on the model. The paint finish is exceptional and it is hard to spot which parts are plastic and which are metal. The model is very heavy and is another amazing release from First Gear. All that remains is for them to produce a 1:50th scale version as the sheer size of this 1:25th scale piece may prove difficult for some collectors to display.
