1:50th Scale Volvo EC210C Tracked Excavator
Presented here is the 1:50th scale Volvo EC210C tracked excavator from Motorart. The model is an upgrade to the previously released EC210 model from Motorart.

The cab is highly detailed with interior controls and information screen visible through the clear windows while rear view mirrors with reflective surface and grab rails have been added to the cab exterior. The rear body has an opening engine cover revealing the engine block and exhaust details inside. The metal grab rail on the oposite side of the body has been added along with more rear view mirrors allowing the operator a clear view all round the machine. The top of the body has an anti slip surface and the slewing motors are visible behind the boom mounting. |

The undercarriage on the model features individually linked metal tracks with bolt and grouser detail on each pad. The idler wheels are sprung loaded and the tracks rotate freely. This is a vast improvement over the previous Volvo 210 model which had plastic linked tracks which were nowhere near as detailed and gives the model a more realistic look.
The one piece boom and stick are riveted together and the rivet heads have been painted over. This has also been done on the bucket linkage so there are no issues with the model coming apart like on the earlier 210 model which used push fit pins which were occasionally found loose in the box.
One thing I have noticed is the lack of hydraulic pipework detail on the back of the boom which is a surprise as all the other Volvo excavators that Motorart have produced have pipework cast into the boom and you do notice the pipework is missing. This is a shame as the rest of the model is well detailed. Maybe this is something that can be changed for the next batch of models.
The rear counterweight has work lights fitted along with the Volvo name and authentic warning markings while the machine's designation is printed on each side of the body. The EC210C release from Motorart has a retail price of around £50, measuring 250mm long, 62mm wide and 70mm high with the boom fully extended and has a weight of 290grams. There is also a limited edition version of the 210C which has been finished in a blue and grey colour scheme and matches the L220E and A40D models which have also been released in this colour scheme.
