1:50th Scale Volvo DD24 Tandem Drum Roller
Presented here is the 1:50th scale Volvo DD24 tandem drum vibratory compactor from Motorart. The DD24 has a drum width of 1.2 metres with a weight of 2600kg and a vibration frequency of between 55 and 67 Hz, featuring an open cab design with ROPs safety frame.

The drum cleaning bars have been fitted to the frame and are finished in silver which makes them stand out against the grey colour of the freely rotating drums whilst the articulating frame does have a decent amount of movement, complete with single hydraulic piston and flexible piping between front and rear frames. |
The model is tiny in 1:50th scale and yet it packs a ton of detail. The front engine cover lifts to reveal a moulded engine and cooling system within with side located radiator grill and replicated engine block. The drum supports have flexible piping fitted to the drive motors and the bolt heads have been picked out with paint to add to the realism. |

The driver's compartment has a textured floor panel with anti-slip surface along with a replicated control console, complete with steering wheel and control levels on both sides of the seat. Scaled handrails have been added to the sides and front of the drivers area with a ROPs frame with integrated forward and reverse facing work lights providing protection for the driver.
For such a small model, Motorart have done a great job in getting as much detail as possible into the model. The paint finish is very even and crisp with accurate placement of the printed Volvo markings along with the painted grill panels on the engine cover. The model is pictured below alongside the Volvo ABG7820 tracked paver to show the size comparison.
