1:50th Scale Volvo ABG7820 Tracked Paver
Presented here is the 1:50th scale Volvo ABG7820 tracked paver from Motorart. The model is a rework of the existing ABG Titan model, decorated in the Volvo livery. The ABG7820 has a maximum working width of 10 metres with a paving speed of 20 metres per minute and is powered by a 231hp Deutz Diesel TCD2013L06 2 V diesel engine.

The front hopper has folding hopper wings with a rubber transfer conveyor with a moulded ribbed surface along with front fitted rollers to prevent damage from discharging trucks.

The rear screed has extending end sections with simulated control panels mounted on the rear corners while the top surface has a diamond plate pattern cast into the surface. |
The screed is joined to the frame mid way along the undercarriage and can be raised off the ground. The track frames have rubber band style tracks fitted which do have a moulded pad pattern on them. Rotating the tracks also rotates the feed conveyor and auger due to friction on the rubber parts and this is a very nice touch on the model, although this is quite stiff to operate on the sample reviewed here.
The elevated seats (missing on the sample reviewed here) are fitted on each side of the machine onto extending frames which slide out allowing the operator an excellent, unobstructed view of the area. The main control panel is mounted centrally in the cab area and has replicated controls visible. The sun roof is made of plastic which is somewhat of a surprise from Motorart but having said that, this model is only a painted update to the original Ingersol Rand ABG model.
