Vogele Vision 5200-2 Tracked Paver
Presented here is the Vogele Vision 5200-2 tracked paver in 1:50th scale from NZG.
The track frames are basic with cast rollers and a larger rear drive wheel giving the undercarriage a triagular appearance with the rubber tracks having moulded pad detailing on the outer surface to add to the realistic look. The two exhaust stacks rising from the rear of the chassis give the model a very interesting profile and the exhausts have simulated silver cladding painted onto the surface.
The main body casting is very crisp with cooling grill panels clearly defined on the side and front surfaces. Chevron safety markings have been added to the hopper doors and extending control stations and front facing work lights are integrated into the main frame, complete with silver painted lenses.

The 5200-2 paver is another example of the additional detail that NZG are putting into their new models. Unlike the earlier Vogele paver models, the hopper of the 5200-2 has small hinges fitted to the front edges of the hopper doors with flexible rubber anti-spill front sections which wrap around to the hopper sides to keep the material inside the hopper.

Each of these hinges moves as the hopper sides are raised and the bottom surface of the hopper has a simulated conveyor belt texture, used to transport the material through the body of the paver to the discharge and spreading auger mounted at the rear, in front of the extending screed. |
The rear of the model is highly detailed with working height adjustment of the screed and extending side panels, complete with two stage telescoping hydraulic cylinders which give a much wider laying width (up to 8.5 metres on the full sized machine). The lower foot step has an integrated section that floats as the sides extend and has a textured diamond plate pattern on the upper surface, as does the upper deck where metal grab rails are fitted centrally leading up to the driver's area.

The ErgoPlus control system controls are mounted on each side of the rear screed and the main control station in the operator's area has a sliding control console which allows the paver to be operated from either side with the two joystick controls clearly visible along with printed switches and displays. |
The open operator's station is an interesting difference to the other large Vogele pavers which all have a canopy. Being open, the various details like textured floor panels, accurate scaled handrails and warning beacon are all clearly visible. |

The model is very well finished with authentic Vogele markings and is supplied in a polystyrene inner box with cardboard outer and printed booklet giving details and pictures of the real machine.
