The cab is mounted to the chassis and can tilt and rotate. The cab exterior is highly detailed with metal windshield wipers on the front and roof windows, an array of working lights fitted all round the cab and opening cab door revealing a fully reproduced operators station, complete with rotating seat and centrally mounted video screen.

The undercarriage of the model is articulated with a single axle at the rear, fitted with large rubber tyres, and two axles at the front featuring working suspension and smaller rubber tyres with authentic tread pattern. The front wheels have an individually linked metal track added that, on the real machine, helps to distribute the load and give a softer footprint on the ground. The rear tyres have an added metal chain and accurate Valmet markings on the wheel hubs.

The CRH24 boom consists of an extending stick which connects to the Valmet 370.2 cutting head. The top hydraulic cylinders are painted yellow with accurate warning markings and full hydraulic hose detail is visible throughout the model.

Valmet 370.2 harvesting head

The 370.2 head is capable of felling trees up to 700mm in diameter and the model has all the details accurately reproduced, right down to the freely rotating feed rollers with anti slip chain, six de-limber knives and the chainsaw that can be retracted from its housing.

The model is packed in a two piece polystyrene box with printed cardboard outer box featuring pictures and details of the real machine.  There is a region free DVD inside the box which features footage of the machine at work with footage of other machines and harvesting heads in the range. An information booklet with pictures and information on the machine is also provided along with a plastic tool with a point at one end and a flexible flat spade at the other for opening the various compartments and cab doors. This is an awesome model with more detail that i have ever seen on a 1:50th scale die-cast model and shows just what can be achieved.
