1:50th Scale Terex 860SX Backhoe Loader
This is the new Terex 860SX backhoe loader from NZG in 1:50th scale. This model is one of the latest releases in a new range of models from NZG which is to include samples taken from the complete Terex Product range.

The front of the model has a finely molded digging bucket with single tip hydraulic cylinder and lift cylinders pinned to the loader arms. The flexible hydraulic hoses glued to all the cylinders gives the model a highly detailed and realistic appearance which is a nice touch on a small model. The front wheels feature working steering and suspension with authentic rubber tyres complete with realistic tread design. |

The larger rear wheels also have finely molded rubber tyres with white painted wheel hubs and grey painted centres with realistic looking disk brake covers. The rear backhoe is fitted to the sideshift frame with two stabilisers which can actually be lowered and are stiff enough to hold the weight of the model. |

The backhoe itself has been very well produced with stiff hydraulics allowing it to be posed in any position chosen. The working extra dig stick coupled with the fine casting of the boom and stick sections and the addition of flexible hydraulic pipe work gives the model a very realistic appearance and in my opinion, looks as good as, if not better than the other backhoe models from Motorart (Volvo and JCB) and Conrad (Case). The kingpin slides smoothly from side to side and lights have been cast into the stabiliser frame with simulated red and orange painted lenses.
The cab on the 860SX has all the operators controls visible through the slightly tinted large windows. The interior molding, complete with central control console and steering wheel even has the storage compartments visible on the left hand side which adds to the overall level of realism.
The exterior of the cab has side mounted access steps with grab rails on both sides of the cab. The grab rails also have integrated rear view mirrors with silver painted surfaces to simulate reflective mirrors. Front facing work lights are visible below the mirrors with integrated roof mounted front and rear facing work lights and warning beacon all present.
The paint finish is excellent with front grill and grey/white colours all accurately reproduced with crisp Terex markings on the loader arms and backhoe boom. The hydraulic cylinders have flexible hoses glued in place which adds to the realism of the model although they can look a little untidy on the backhoe boom and stick. The model is supplied in a two piece polystyrene carton with outer printed cardboard box and carries the NZG part number 682.
