Sumitomo SH135 Tracked Excavator
Presented here is the 1:50th scale Sumitomo SH135 tracked excavator from Replicars. The SH135 is a reduced tail swing excavator weighing in a little over 14 ton. As with the SH200, the SH135 replica has captured all the fine detailing found on the real machine perfectly.
The undercarriage track frames have good surface engraving with integrated steps and a working dozer blade which has protective covers over the hydraulic cylinders. The tracks are individually linked with ridged grouser detailing and rotate well, with a tensioned idler keeping the tracks taut.
The body shaping has been authentically captured with very fine surface detailing added to the castings. Small details include three small camera housings, one on each side and one above the counterweight.
The upper engine cover can be opened to view the authentically modelled Izuzu engine which has been replicated very well, painted in authentic colours which highlights the casting details of the cylinder block and exhaust piping. Three small camera housings are located on the upper area of the engine compartment giving the operator a perfect view all round the machine.

The cabin interior is fully decorated with light coloured internal panels, highlighted hand controls integrated into the arm rests, track control levers and painted seat.

The exterior of the cabin has good surface casting details including door handle, side and roof panels and door hinges. The glazing is almost flush fitting into the cab frame with highlighted window seals looking very good, finished with a windscreen wiper. |
The boom, stick and bucket linkage have a full range of movement with bolts used to attach the bucket, allowing it to be easily changed for other work tools. The fixed and flexible hydraulic piping has been accurately modelled throughout with armoured hoses used in places with silver finished connectors and crisply printed safety labels added for extra realism.
The paint finish and Sumitomo graphics are of a very high standard with metal safety railings and grab handles, rear view mirrors and safety mirrors all replicated. So far, the model is not widely available from model dealers but it can be found on Ebay if you search hard enough.
