Liebherr R954C Tracked Excavator

Presented here is the exclusive edition 1:50th scale Liebherr R954C tracked excavator in the colours of Sogea Satom, a member of the VINCI construction group. The model is produced by Conrad and available from the VINCI online webshop.

The cab has accurately scaled grab rails leading up the front edge of the frame with a plastic moulding for the interior, complete with seat and hand controls. The clear glazing has black printed seals simulating the rubber seals of the full sized machine for a little extra realism.

As with most Conrad models, there is a fair bit of weight in the model with solid engineering and a realistic range of movement of the boom, stick and bucket. The body casting has been very well done and includes grill detailing and grab rails integrated into the upper edge of the engine bay. 

The undercarriage has nicely formed linked metal tracks which are tensioned allowing them to remain taut while still rotating smoothly. The bucket is nicely done and has plenty of detail, including wear protection and five realistically shaped teeth.

The finish of the model is very good with a two tone colour scheme of yellow with white boom complemented with white lift and dipper hydraulics. The markings are very crisp with the Sogea Satom company logos located on the side body panels and boom along with a fleet number printed on the cabin door and small safety labels adding to the realism.
