Liebherr R924 Compact Tracked Excavator

Presented here is the limited edition Liebherr R924 Compact tracked excavator model in 1:50th scale from Conrad, finished in the Sacer company livery. The Sacer construction firm is a subsidiary of the Colas group, a major French civil engineering firm specialising in road and rail construction.

The detail level is amazing for a model so small. The body casting has been very well done and includes cutouts to replicate the various cooling grills. The newly styled cab is highly detailed with handrails, mirrors and internal controls. Even the new central lube system has been reproduced on the rear of the body.

The undercarriage is excellent, with sprung loaded idler wheels and individually linked metal tracks. The bucket is nicely done and has plenty of detail, including wear protection while the boom and stick have a very good range of movement, allowing the bucket to fit within the undercarriage footprint. The finish of the model is excellent, as is expected of Conrad with crisp graphics of the Sacer construction group on the counterweight and boom with a red and white chevron pattern printed around the rear of the model.
