New Holland LB115B Backhoe Loader

Presented here is the newly launched New Holland LB 115B backhoe loader model in 1:50th scale from ROS. This is one of three new 1:50th scale models from ROS and the attention to detail is clearly visible. In the past, Ros were not known for high quality detailed models and more known for large scale agricultural models, more as toys for children than as collectibles.

The cab is highly detailed with all the operator controls and consoles visible through the clear windows. All working lights have been reproduced in the cab roof as on the real machine and handrails with mirrors and light clusters have been added to the cab sides. This adds realism to the model and although molded in plastic, they are thin enough to not look out of place. Windscreen wipers are also added to the front and rear windows.

The front of the model features a standard loading bucket which is fully functional and can be positioned as the real machine. The model is based on the 4x4x4 style of machine similar to the JCB 4CX where all wheels are of equal size and has working four wheel steering with mud guards fitted to the front wheels.

The rear of the model features a working sideshift and adjustable stabilisers. The backhoe boom is fully functional including a working extending stick and digging bucket. The finish of the model is of a high standard and markings are accurate and crisp. This model has certainly changed my opinion of Ros and I now look forward to their new 1:50th scale releases with great interest.
