New Holland T6020 Tractor

Presented here is the 1:32nd scale New Holland T6020 tractor from Universal Hobbies. This version of the model is an update to the previously released version and has blue painted loader arms. The detail level and realism of the models produced by Universal Hobbies increases on each new release and there is certainly plenty of fine detailing found on this model.

The cabin has been meticulously replicated inside and out, with all the operator controls added, including the various hand and foot controls with paint used to highlight the buttons and switches which accentuates the detail. The steps leading up to the cab have an intricate grate pattern which looks good and a number of front and rear facing work lights with small plastic lenses have been added.

Interior details include the accurately scaled grab rails on both doors while the rear window has simulated gas strut detailing and grab rails giving the impression the window could actually open. The rear view mirrors can be adjusted while a roof window and amber safety beacon have been fitted.

The tyres have a very good moulded tread pattern complete with small dimples which look great with a steering front axle and plastic guards which pivot with the wheels.

The choice of front attachment is interesting and while there is plenty of detail, the upper grapple assembly does not open fully (as pictured above at maximum opening). The addition of flexible and silver painted fixed piping is a nice touch and certainly adds to the realistic appearance.

The rear of the tractor has a typical three point hitch which allows the range of 1:32nd scale attachments to be added.

The front loader arms offer a good range of movement with the bucket linkage allowing the model to be realistically posed.

The paint finish is very good with crisp and accurate printing of the New Holland graphics on the bonnet and loader arms. It is interesting that the model construction utilises small screws to assemble the loader arms and bucket linkage which I am certainly not keen on and yet the bucket connection and grapple is actually pinned rather than screwed together.
