Mercedes Benz Actros 4x2 Tractor
"White / Black Liner"

Presented here is a 1:50th scale model of the Mercedes Benz Actros 4x2 tractor from NZG, finished in a rather eye catching black or white colour scheme. Two versions of the model have been produced, one painted in a gloss white finish and the one reviewed here in a gloss black finish with both having grey printed stripes.

The model is secured on a black plastic plinth with a removable clear plastic cover which keeps the model safe and dust free. For those that want to pose the model alongside their collection, the model can be easily removed.

The front grill contours have been accurately modelled with plenty of ridge detail of the grills and a plastic insert with a textured surface can also be seen. The silver plates on the access steps look good with clear and amber tinted plastic lenses used for the driving and indicator lights. The number plate is authentic and the chromed Mercedes logo is mounted centrally on the front grill.

The cab interior has been replicated and highlighted with the seats and steering wheel painted in a dark red finish with a contoured dashboard visible through the front and side windows. The outside detailing of the cabin is also nicely done with raised windscreen wipers, radio aerials and roof mounted chromed air horns fitted.

The truck chassis is finished in a dark grey colour with the air bottles located at the rear of the frame and chromed fuel tanks found on both sides of the chassis, hidden behind contoured side panels which have small access steps leading up to the silver platform and functional fifth wheel coupling, allowing the tractor to be coupled with the range of NZG trailer models.

The underside of the chassis is sparcely detailed with a simple casting for the rear suspension and rear axle. There is a driveshaft and the front leaf suspension does have a little more detailing with a steering front axle. The tyres have a zigzag tread pattern moulded into the surfaces which look authentic and the chromed wheel hubs have some nice detailing.

The model is pictured below alongside the white version of the model and both have an excellent paint finish with all the casting details showing through well. The printing of the markings and stripes is crisp throughout and the pair are a nice addition to any truck collection.
