Mercedes-Benz Actros Titan 6x6
Presented here is the 1:50th scale military version of the Mercedes Benz Actros 6x6 Titan tractor which has been produced by WSI Models and finished in an army green decoration.
The left hand drive cab interior is authentically modeled with the contoured dashboard, steering wheel and crew seating visible within, finished in a mid grey colour.
The cab exterior has windscreen wipers, rear view and front safety mirrors and an air conditioning unit on the roof with the Mercedes logo prominently displayed on the front grill along with a front towing hitch integrated into the front chassis. The bumper has inset main driving lights which have clear lenses with a silver border.
The module behind the cab houses a large fuel tank with air bottles, wheel chocks and a cooling unit all integrated into the frame. A silver finished platform has been added for access to the coiled service lines which are replicated.

Small light housings with silver painted lenses face rearward and accurately scaled grab rails offer easy access to the rear deck where the fully functioning fifth wheel coupling is located.

The tyres fitted to the model are of a larger off-road style design and give the model a very rugged appearance. The tread pattern is moulded well with inner wheel hubs showing surface fixing bolt detailing.
The underside of the chassis has a replicated suspension frame with detailed axles connected by drive shafts to the transmission. A drive shaft is also added to the driven front axle which has a steering mechanism which, on the sample reviewed here, has very limited range of movement.
The military 6x6 Titan is certainly authentic with a minimalist chassis void of any wheel covers or side mounted fuel tanks. The paint finish is of a high standard with an even coat highlighting the surface engravings within the castings. Assembly of the model is also very good with no damage or missing parts on the sample reviewed here.
