MAN TGX 8x4 R6 Prime Mover

Presented here is the 1:50th scale MAN TGX 8x4 prime mover in an orange decoration from NZG. This is another highly detailed MAN heavy haulage model from NZG with plenty of fine details throughout with crisp body and cab castings showing all the panel detailing along with a replicated cab interior that is visible through the large front windscreen which has wipers and sun screen fitted. The lower front grill is different to the other MAN TGX 8x4 models from NZG and does not have the front towing assembly. The lower side panels are also different leading up to the cab doors.

The rear frame of the chassis has the fifth wheel coupling allowing the model to be paired with any of the trailer models NZG have produced including the Nooteboom Pendel X series. The silver access panels have a fine diamond plate texture whilst the plastic wheel guards have the fixing detailing visible along with simulated rubber guards, topped off with integrated wheel chocks.

The tyres fitted on the model have an intricate moulded tread pattern with crisply detailed plastic wheel hubs showing all the bolt heads and central hub. The rear light clusters are produced in transparent plastic with tinted coloured lenses for the reversing, brake and indicator lights with the MAN logo and number plate also visible along with a pivoting towing pintle hitch.

The cab features a roof window with amber beacons and twin aerials with two small side windows above the door and chrome air horns on the side. Rear view mirrors have been fitted along with both front and off-side safety viewing mirrors which add to the levels of realism. The front grill features the MAN logo with number plate and clear lenses utilised for the main driving lights.

The large fuel tank is located behind the cab with coiled service lines and rear facing work lights all added. Even the tank filler cap has been modelled and the silver exhaust stack rises up the rear of the cab. The underside of the model features a replicated drivetrain from the front engine to the rear drive axles which are connected to the framework suspension and the front two axles have working linked steering with a very good range of movement.  

As with the other MAN TGX 8x4 models from NZG, the paint finish is crisp and thin, allowing the details in the castings to show through nicely.
