MAN TGX 8x4 V8 Prime MoverPresented here is the 1:50th scale MAN TGX 8x4 prime mover in the striking livery of Give Svaergods There are a number of model manufacturers producing fantastic heavy haulage models at the moment including WSI, Conrad, Tekno and, as presented here, NZG. This is one of the first MAN heavy haulage models produced by NZG and there are plenty of fine details throughout with some very crisp body and cab castings showing all the panel detailing. The cab interior has been replicated and is visible through the large front windscreen which has wipers and sun screen fitted. The rear module has more fine detailing including the cooling system with a visible fan blade that is surrounded by a protective safety cage. Coiled service lines have been added along with pipework, air tanks and the large fuel tank.
The underside of the model is equally well detailed with a replicated drivetrain from the front engine to the rear drive axles which are connected to the framework suspension. The front two axles have working linked steering and, unlike on the WSI models, the range of movement is very good indeed. The rear frame of the chassis has the fifth wheel coupling allowing the model to be paired with any of the trailer models NZG have produced including the Nooteboom Pendel X series. The silver access panels have a fine diamond plate texture whilst the plastic wheel guards have the fixing detailing visible along with simulated rubber guards, topped off with integrated wheel chocks. The rear light clusters are produced in transparent plastic with tinted coloured lenses for the reversing, brake and indicator lights with the MAN logo and number plate also visible along with a pivoting towing pintle hitch. The tyres fitted on the model have an intricate moulded tread pattern with crisply detailed plastic wheel hubs showing all the bolt heads and central hub whilst the front wheel hubs have silver centres making them stand out. The MAN TGX 8x4 V8 is a very detailed release from NZG with excellent paint finish and great looking printing all adding up to a must have model. This is one of a new range of MAN trucks which also feature 2 and 3 axle versions. The model presented here is also available in a chromed decoration (as pictured below) and features the same levels of detail and realism throughout. |
