Man TGS Euro 5 4-axle truck with Carnehl Tipping Body

Presented here is the 1:50th scale TGS Euro 5 truck with Carnehl tipping body from Conrad which has been produced in a limited run decorated in the Heffner company colours. This model is an update to the earlier MAN TGS 4-axle truck which was also finished in the Heffner colours and decoration with the new Euro 5 cabin design.

The front axles have linked working steering and are fitted with accurately moulded rubber tyres which have a detailed road tread pattern along with silver wheel hubs. The rear axles are mounted to the chassis with simulated and non-functional leaf spring suspension which keep the axles rigid. A drive shaft is connected between the rear axle hubs and to the front transmission block.

Silver finished covers are placed over the rear wheels and these have a fine diamond plate engraving over the surface which looks good with plastic side bars protecting the fuel tank and air bottles.

The cabin has a replicated interior which is clearly visible and nicely illuminated with front, side and rear windows allowing plenty of light to shine through. The contoured dashboard with steering wheel and both driver and passenger seating is modelled within.

The cabin is modelled on the Euro 5 specifications with the MAN logo placed centrally above the MAN name and highly polished in chrome. The cosmetic changes for the Euro 5 are minimal and have already been superceded with the Euro 6 cabin design. The sides have metal access steps with the door handles highlighted and a sun visor fitted above the front windscreen, complete with printed Heffner logo.

The hydraulic fluid tank for the tipping cylinder is fixed behind the cab with the multi-stage hydraulic piston allowing the body to tilt to a reasonable angle. The exhaust stack has a chromed finish with an intricate dimpled finish simulating the safety cooling shield with the air intake integrated into the rear corner of the cabin.

The rear tailgate pivots open to discharge material and the body has a curved floor to assist in full discharge of the load, just like the full sized truck. A ladder is attached to the side of the body with raised CARNEHL markings and the Heffner company name clearly printed. The paint finish is of a very high standard and matches the other models that have been finished in the Heffner decoration.
